South Beach Hotel Transfer to Troon and the South Beach Hotel. The South Beach is a privately owned family hotel, ideally situated in the best part of Troon and facing directly onto the sea-front with its magnificent sandy beach.

Glasgow to Troon is approximately a 50 minute drive.

Overnight at the South Beach Hotel.

Tuesday, July 18:
Old Prestwick Course This morning after breakfast golf will be arranged on the Prestwick Golf Course. Founded in 1851, the setting for the very first Open, this is one of the best known and most distinguished clubs in Scotland. The Club is situated just half an hour south west of Glasgow on the famous golfing Ayrshire coast.

Non golfers may like to visit Culzean Castle. Home of the Kennedys, Culzean dates back to 1777 and is one of Robert Adams most notable creations. Culzean also has long associations with the USA, as General Eisenhower was given a suite of rooms here after the Second World War in appreciation by the British people. Culzean is surrounded by a country park which includes a walled garden established in 1783.

Overnight at the South Beach Hotel.

Wednesday, July 19:
Today after breakfast golf will be arranged at Western Gailes Golf Club. Western Gailes is as fine a true links course as can be found almost anywhere in the British Isles. Like all Scottish links courses, the weather plays an important part in every round of golf. When the wind blows at Gailes, the long stretch from the 6th to the 13th is not only a trial of skill and strength, but something of an endurance test as well.

Non golfers may like to follow the Burns Heritage Trail. Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns, was born in the nearby county town of Ayr and you can visit the thatched cottage where he was born and also many of the places immortalized in his poems.

Overnight at the South Beach Hotel.

Thursday, July 20:
Royal Troon Golf Course Today after breakfast golf will be arranged at Royal Troon Golf Club. Frequent host to the British Open, Royal Troon is consistently ranked as one of the World's best links courses. It was created by the hand of Willie Fernie, one of the great early British golfers in 1878. A classic links course in every respect, the golfer is eased into the challenge with each hole appearing to get progressively tougher.

This afternoon a second round of golf will be arranged on the Troon Portland Course. Portland is another good links course and although overshadowed by its illustrious neighbor, it would be a mistake to dismiss it. It is in fact very similar to Royal Troon as far as the holes and hazards go but it is a bit shorter and more forgiving.

Non golfers may like to sightsee and shop in Ayr. There are many beautiful parks and gardens in and around the town of Ayr, notably Belleisle, Craigie and Rozelle. Rozelle is also the home of Ayr’s Art Gallery, and displays one of the very few Henry Moore sculptures to be seen in Scotland. The shopping center of Ayr often surprises visitors by its range and size.

Overnight at the South Beach Hotel.

Friday, July 21:
Today after breakfast golf will be arranged on the Dundonald Golf Course. The Dundonald Course, is like the Barassie Links a composite of the new nine holes and the other nine holes from the traditional course. The combination shortens the course to 6107 yards from the White Tees. The Dundonald is known locally as "the Winter Course" . The course still offers a very challenging Par 69 with one par five and four par threes - three of these on the front nine.

Non golfers may like to visit Dean Castle. Dean Castle is a 14th-century keep and 15th-century palace and is the ancestral home of the Boyd family. It contains an outstanding collection of medieval arms, armor, tapestries and musical instruments, along with a display of Burns manuscripts. The country park has 200 acres of woodland and farmland, extending over the old estates of Dean and Assloss.

Mill Hotel After golf you will transfer to Chester, England and the Mill Hotel. Situated on an historic Roman site the Mill Hotel was opened by its present owners in 1987. The original Griffiths Cornmill building dates from 1830 and great care has been taken to sympathetically incorporate many of the original architectural features during the conversion into a hotel. The Mill hotel has been extended in recent years with the addition of the impressive south wing, linked to the original building via a glass walled bridge over the Shropshire Union Canal. The hotel now boasts 129 en-suite bedrooms, conferencing facilities, and unrivalled leisure facilities including a gymnasium, pool, sauna, steam room.

Troon to Chester is approximately a 4 1/2 hour drive.

Overnight at the Mill Hotel.

Saturday, July 22:
Royal Liverpool Today after breakfast you will attend the Third Day's Play of the 2006 British Open Championship being held at Royal Liverpool Golf Club.
