The Ocean Course

The Ocean Course.jpg

Course Description:

The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island built in 1991 by Pete Dye, was designed as two courses in one.  The course is difficult in that there are no prevailing winds, and was designed to allow players a truly unobstructed view of the Atlantic coastline.  The course is demanding as it is exposed to the unpredictable sea breezes.  The Ocean Course has played host to numerous championships:  The Ryder Cup® 1991, World Cups 1997 and 2003, UBS Cup 2001, PGA Professional National Championship 2005, Senior PGA 2007, and PGA Championship in 2012.  The Ocean Course also made a debut in the movie “The Legend of Bagger Vance.”
