It has been listed by the Historic Buildings Association as of special architectural interest and the graciousness and comfort of the surroundings help to create an atmosphere of relaxation and enjoyment. Set in four acres of ground which includes a Japanese Garden and croquet lawn, it was originally built for Sir Alexander Walker, grandson of Johnnie Walker who was founder of the whisky firm.
